Creatures:
Rockette: At the top of the list because of its retro game value, there's no mythological value to this little creature, yet there's always a little moving rock with eyes on those games!
Golem: A creature which varies in size dramatically, the Golem is a huge rock beast, very tough to defeat but with persistance, will always smash into tiny pieces in the end. In the lord of the rings Golem is not a creature, but a name of someone who was obsessed with 'the ring' and changed into a rock crawling low life, this doesn not fit in with this mythology, but, all should be known.
Manticore: Those who have seem the film, Manticore need not bother reading this, a Manticore is a stran ge creature with historical mythological value -people used to beleave these existed. It had the head of a lion, giant wings of a bat and a tail of a scorpion, they rest as statues, and are best slain using a mirror or another manticore as this weakens them, in the film, when a manticore looks at itself or another Manticore, it slowly turns to stone, for gameplay suitability, this only weakens a Manticore, making them lone travelers.
Sphinx: Another statue resting legend, these Egyptian creatures are a head of a woman, only more primitive, the body of a lion, giant wings of an eagle and a snakes head and neck as a tail. Imagine being chased by a Sphinx and a Manticore, a nice combo! Most Earth classed creatures are mixed up animals with statue forms.
Anubian: A smaller weaker and mulitple form of the Egyptian god, Anubis, these are dogs which walk upright with humanoid limbs, claws and paws but fingers and thumbs. Anubians are fast fighters with enough inteligance to wield weapons, but not enough for discovery and complex social structures -walking dogs with spears but with normal dog behavior.
Impaler: A nasty and neat Dungeon Siege monster, like a scorpion but with a mouth full of teeth, much bigger, and a tail strong and large enough to impale a human, hence the name, Impaler.
Gargoyle: Of corse Gargoyles are rocky earth creatures, the great winged statues that live, you may wonder what rock creatures eat, well, you'll never guess, they eat rocks! Gargoyles even though they should be around in the desert with the Manticores and Sphinxes, they are common in graveyard scenes, followed by a load of 'Zombies.' The best way to slay a gargoyle would be to smash it to pieces, start with the wings.
Gorack: Another Dungeon Siege creation worthy of this page, Goracks are tough rock-gorilla sort of things, they move as a gorilla would, but don't swing on trees, too heavy, and don't eat banannas, only rocks! A Gorack loves nothing better than to smash up flesh with its rock fist, they love destroying things, it makes them happy!
Catoblepas: A Greek legend of a buffalo, with the head of a hog, always staring down, although if you met one you'd worry about its huge horns and mass of power, when it's ultimate weapon is its deadly breath, if desired, such a beast can spray a deadly toxin from its mouth, cause flesh to crust instantly, or turn to stone?
Clink: A strange being that lurks through Heretic, with a metal scythe on it's head, metal sythes as its claw and they emit the stranges of metalic sounds. Unlike most rocky earth creatures, Clinks are metalic with a very rough skin.
